Team Arisant Spins for a Cure

Team Arisant raised more than $5,000 to bring us closer to cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Normally, the human immune system protects us against disease and infection. However, in some people, the immune system mistakes harmless substances such as good bacteria and even food for harmful agents. The result is an immune system disorder. These disorders stretch across multiple disease categories and create chronic, destructive conditions that can last a lifetime.

Two such disorders are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Both are major categories of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), which affect an estimated 1.6 million Americans.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a leading supporter that funds medical research into the causes of and potential cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The foundation provides funds for cutting-edge medical research and offers information, resources, and support to those who have these crippling diseases.

This fall, the Arisant team committed to supporting the efforts of this essential organization. We held our event at the Colorado Athletic Club (CAC) Inverness, and, with support from CAC instructors, spent a grueling two hours spinning.

Would we do it again? Absolutely! We raised more than $5,000 for the cause and were in the top 20 fundraisers for this first nationwide event that’s planned to be held every year.

If you’d like to learn more about the CCFA or even organize your own event, visit the foundation’s website directly or through the event site at
